Born just after slavery ended and orphaned at the age of seven, Sarah Breedlove Walker nevertheless had a vision of confidence and pride for herself and for all women of her race. She stayed true to her dreams, finding success in creating hair and beauty products for black women. Renaming herself Madam Walker, she founded her own company, the Mme C.J. Walker Manufacturing Company and became one of the richest women of her time. She also established herself as a role model for women of all races, proving that dreams can become reality.
